Quotes From Team Members

Over the last seven years, the LAMB Institute has become my home and the people have become my family. I know the Lord has led me to this ministry and helped me grow in my faith and as a young woman through my many trips. I’m lucky to be able to call myself part Honduran because of all of the love and joy I receive from the LAMB Institute. — Alyssa Sargent, age 20

LAMB is a great place for teens and adults to experience the love of Jesus first hand!  There is nothing more inspiring than seeing a young person fully immersed in their work, whether the work is “painting, hauling, or sharing God’s love”!  — Pamm Ferrand, youth team leader

I have been on numerous mission trips to Honduras, and each and every time, I am humbled by the happy spirit and generosity of the children.   They rise above their past issues and tragedies and grow in the Holy Spirit while under the care of the loving staff at SBV and Flor De Campo.  The young people who participate in the Alonzo Movement are an inspiration in how they so willingly adopt the path of the Lamb and grow in the Holy Spirit.   It is obvious that they are growing into responsible citizens while avoiding the traps of their environment, such as gangs.

LAMB should be proud of all the accomplishments of the people they work with in Honduras as well as the ongoing heroic efforts of their amazing staff. – John McKinnon, frequent short term missioner

I had the opportunity to lead my first overseas mission team in the fall of 2013. Throughout our months of planning and meeting, it was so evident that God was with us. The team came together and was eager to begin work. The Honduran leaders were such a blessing to us and showed much patience! The opportunity to share at night and the devotions in the mornings were invaluable to the team as a whole. I will never be the same after experiencing the love, compassion, caring, and humility of the Honduran people. They were such a blessing to us. We went to serve and came away with so much more than just the experience. The pull of my heart to serve continues to grow and I look forward each day to see who God puts in my path. Also, I look forward with much anticipation and excitement to our next trip in October 2014! – Kathy Kelly, leader of adult team

Traveling with teens provides the teens with an eye opening experience.  They learn to appreciate the gifts they have been blessed with including the people in their lives.  It also provides the adults the opportunities to see these changes occur as your time at LAMB progresses.  — Amy Hill, youth leader

This trip this past January was my 10th to serve with and for the children in Flor de Campo and San Buena Ventura.  I am always amazed at what developments there have been year to year in terms of program and services, but there is one constant…the joyous smiles of the children who are clearly learning of the presence of God in their lives.  Thanks be to God! – Bill Sleeper, frequent short term missionary.

In July of 2025, a team of 12 adults and 7 teens from our church visited Lamb Institute for the first time. Our ages ranged from 12 to 80 years old. We didn’t know what to expect or whether our visit would be impactful and helpful to the children at Lamb or for us. It is not embellishment to say that we were all amazed at how God is working at Lamb. We were overwhelmed by the love of God displayed and experienced among all of the facets of Lamb’s ministries and among all of the children and adults. We are grateful for our time at Lamb. We loved everyone we met from the infants to the senior adults who cared for us during our stay, which was above and beyond what we had imagined. Every single one of us cannot wait to return. Our trip also contributed to building our relationships with one another. – Rev. Dr. Craig Stephans, Rector of Christ Church Savannah
